Leatherhead Community Information
Leatherhead is a lively community with a wide range of
facilities and local activities on offer to residents and
visitors. The Leatherhead Town Centre Forum meets every
2 months in Park House within the Red House Grounds to discuss
matters of local interest. Members of the public are welcome
to attend.
The Town Centre Manager's office is located in the Help
Shop in the High Street. The Help Shop also provides a range
of services from information to visitors on local attractions
to guidance on Council matters.
The Leatherhead Institute, located at the east end of
the High Street, is the centre of many educational and
social activities. It is the base for the Leatherhead
Community Association. The Association was formed in 1977
with the object of encouraging social activities for local
people. During the year over 80 local clubs and organisations
used the Institute. These include activities as diverse
as barn dances, art classes, stamp and bridge clubs. Members
of the Association receive a news sheet of activities
every two months.
The town has an excellent range of local schools and a
variety of churches. There are sporting activities for the
active and the spectator. The town has a cricket club and
football club, both located within the grounds of the Leatherhead
Leisure Centre. |
