The Leatherhead Institute, located at the east end of the High Street, is the centre of many educational and social activities. It is the base for the Leatherhead Community Association. These include activities as diverse as barn dances, art classes, stamp and bridge clubs. Members of the Association receive a news sheet of activities every two months.
The town has an excellent range of local schools and a variety of churches. There are sporting activities for the active and the spectator. The town has a cricket club and football club , both located within the grounds of the Leatherhead Leisure Centre.
